Taylor Swift makes history as first woman to have FOUR albums in Billboard Top 10 at once following in the footsteps of Herb Alpert and Prince, with re-record of Speak Now

Taylor Swift has broken yet another record as the rerecorded version of her album Speak Now debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard 100 chart during the biggest week of the year.

The singer, 33, has made history as the first woman to have four albums in the charts at the same time as she follows in the footsteps of Herb Alpert and Prince.

The news was revealed on Sunday, and it was also reported that she had surpassed Barbra Streisand in most No. 1 albums among female performers.

According to Billboard Taylor earned 716,000 equivalent album units from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), with 507,000 being traditional sales.

It was also reported that the figures ‘represent the largest week for any album in 2023’ and the largest since the release of Swift’s most recent record comprised of new material, Midnights.

Following his death in 2016, Prince had 19 different albums chart on the Billboard 200 and became the first and only artist to have five albums in the top ten.

Swift has since become the only performer in history to land a new number one album for five years in a row.

The singer also boasts the distinction of being the only artist with nine separate albums that sold at least a half-million copies in a single week.

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) has since become the highest-selling iteration of the hitmaker’s rerecorded albums after updated versions of Fearless and Red were both issued in 2021.

The new version of the record has also enjoyed the second-largest vinyl-specific sales week in recent years.

Speak Now, which served as Swift’s third album, was previously released in 2010 and was met with largely positive reviews from critics.

The new version of the hitmaker’s record also features six previously unreleased songs recorded around the time of the album’s production.

Swift previously shared the album’s cover art on her Instagram account this past May and penned a short message to expand on her feelings about the album.

She wrote that ‘the songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness.’

The singer continued: ‘I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing…and living to speak about it.’

Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was released to the public earlier this month, and the new iteration of the album was met with positive reviews from listeners.
