Love Island’s Abigail Rawlings ‘happier than ever’ after getting back together with ex
LOVE Island bombshell Abigail Rawling has revealed that she’s “happier than ever” after getting back together with her ex just two weeks after the series ended.
The 27-year-old admitted that she’s thrilled that she didn’t find love in the villa and said that her ex was often on her mind during her time on the show.
The tattoo artist also explained that she compared the lads in the villa to her last partner – and is glad that she didn’t find a connection with anyone after reuniting with her former flame.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Abigail said: “It’s a guy that I’ve dated before; we never really made it to relationship status.
“But we’re back dating now and it’s going really well, I’m really happy to be honest.
“I actually reached out to him, before it wasn’t working relationship-wise and we became best friends before I went in.
“I missed him anyway and I didn’t have very much luck in there and naturally you do just think about the last person you were with.”
The tattooed beauty initially set her sights on Toby Aromolaran before Casa Amor, only for him to return with someone else.
She later coupled up with Dale Mehmet, but viewers voted them off the island.
Now, it seems absence has made the heart grow fonder for Abi.
“I didn’t mean to but I did find myself comparing them to him and not quite feeling the same,” she continued.
“I did find myself often thinking about him, so when I came out I just messaged him and was like ‘guess who’s back’ and it’s gone on from there.
“For how happy I am now, to think that I could potentially not be here because I could have found a different connection.
“If the connection was real then that obviously wasn’t meant to be. But for how happy I am right now, I am grateful that my journey has ended up how it has because I’m happy.”
The Bournemouth babe said that it’s still early stages and has no plans to move in with her partner just yet.
“I’ve lived on my own for so many years – it would be quite a big move for me to do that,” she continued.
The TV beauty said that her friendships with the rest of the cast is still going strong – but firmly ruled out any romance with Dale in the future.
She added: “I would say I speak to Faye and Kaz the most and Liberty and Chloe – we’re going to put a date in the diary.
“I’ve not unfollowed anyone, I’m not an unfollower.
“Me and Dale will always be good friends, being in Love Island is such an intimate experience.
“He came down to Bournemouth and I did the tattoo on him, in my studio. It felt like an old friend that I hadn’t seen for ages and it was not that long ago that I was sharing a bed with him.”
Abigail, who hopes to land her own tattoo show on TV, also revealed that she is plans to do matching inking for fellow Islanders Millie Court and Liam Reardon.
She said: “One of my goals is to have my own tattoo show on TV – Millie and Liam are on my next episode.
“I am going to tattoo both of them, Millie wants something relatively small and Liam I think wants actually a proper tattoo, something quite big. So it should be good.”
The brunette star said that she initially felt “overwhelmed” when she came out of the villa but has adjusted to fame with support from previous Islanders.
“I have had a few past Islanders from other series offering support and advice which is so handy and I wasn’t expecting either,” she said.
“It is really nice, when you’re out it feels like a Love Island family even from different series.
“It’s such a weird bond as not many people can relate to you. Everyone is so supportive. But no cheeky DMs or requests from any of them.”
