Grace Elizabeth Basks in For Love & Lemons x Victoria’s Secret Sp
For Love & Lemons returns with Victoria’s Secret, launching the next episode of its spring 2020 campaign. Grace Elizabeth is delicious in romantic, flower garden hues and embroideries coupled with sensual but traditional bridal lingerie.
Photographer Sean Thomas shot the first portraits of the Sp 2020 collab.
There is concern in our COVID-19 world that the pending Victoria’s Secret sale to Sycamore Partners could hit some speed bumps. It’s stay tuned for now.
On a positive note, the Victoria’s Secret website did reopen several days ahead of schedule and with a series of changes that protect employees at its warehouses. Business Insider reports a deep clean of all distribution centers and shipping locations.
New hand sanitizer stations are installed for workers, along with a wellnes center and pharmacy on-site where workers can access “healthcare and medicines quickly and easily,” said a press release. Employees are required to take their temperatures before heading into work. Work stations are now six feet apart, along with staggered shifts to limit the number of people in buildings at one time.
This is all good news at VS. For all the criticism hurled at the brand by AOC, this action must be applauded.
Are Victoria’s Secret Angels Over?
There’s no mention of the VS Angels on the Victoria’s Secret website. A Google search brings up no announcements. And perhaps they are getting an entire new wing on the VS website in the coming months. As a high-ranking VS exec adamantly opposed to the Angels from day one, I wait with bated breath to see if they reappear.
In a bit of irony, the Victoria’s Secret website looks today very much as I left it years ago — on a total high note financially. Is that good or bad”? Typically not — but perhaps we have a return to core values focused on customers and employees.
This is always a good place to start for a beloved brand that totally went off the rails with testosterone gone wild running the brand. I so thought Les Wexner was smarter than that. Les was a retail genius in my mind., and then he lost his.
So for this moment, no Angels are flitting around the VS website. The future will declare itself. Whatever happens, let’s hope Victoria’s Secret gets all the kinks out and rises like the Phoenix out of her ash pit in the coming years.
We have too many workers at too many US locations to be casual about all the trials and tribulations at VS. Workers first — from America to sewing factories worldwide — so I hope we continue to support the Victoria’s Secret brand as it gets its act together.
All know that I adore For Love & Lemons, but I am concerned about $45 panties in this economy. Enuf said. ~ Anne
