Eugenie Bouchard’s wild life since Wimbledon final – swimsuit modelling to dating fan
The tennis star has endured a tumultuous time on and off the court since reaching her first and so far only Grand Slam final at the All England Club
Eugenie Bouchard has certainly had an entertaining time on and off the tennis court since reaching the final of Wimbledon in 2014.
The Canadian starlet burst onto the scene in 2014 as a 20-year-old when she reached the semi-finals of both the Australian Open and the French Open.
She followed up those performance with a maiden Grand Slam appearance at Wimbledon, as she became the first Canadian-born player representing the nation to reach the final of a major singles tournament.
Despite losing to Petra Kvitova in the final, Bouchard’s performances seemingly spelled the beginning of a long and illustrious career.
However, it wasn’t meant to be as the 29-year-old went through years of a loss in form and injuries which derailed her momentum.
Throughout her struggling period, the Montreal native has led an exciting life outside tennis as she posed for SI’s Swimsuit Issue in 2018.

It was a photoshoot that had fans swooning and Bouchard herself admitted that modelling is something she could consider at the end of her tennis career.
“The most important thing for me in my priorities is to play tennis, because it is what I love and like to do,” she said in 2018.
“But I know that I have other options to develop.
“These other options are difficult because of the schedule that I keep, and for now I am not interested in anything other than tennis.
“I am focused on recovering my ranking, and modelling may be an option when I retire.”
During her form issues in 2017 where she ended the season outside the top 80 players in the world, Bouchard went viral on social media after a particular Super Bowl bet.
After backing the Atlanta Falcons to beat the New England Patriots in the finale, one of her Twitter followers, a student called John Goehrke, asked her if they could go on a date if the Patriots triumphed, to which the tennis player agreed.
The Patriots ended up making a historic comeback to win the Super Bowl as Bouchard lived up to her word and the pair were seen out together several times, including at an NBA game.
Fans were envious of the student, with some calling him the “luckiest man alive” but according to the tennis star, it didn’t materialise into anything romantic.
“That infamous moment in my life when I tweeted when I shouldn’t have just turned into this whole thing,” she said to tennis.com in 2020.
“We’ve hung out a bunch of times. I think he has a girlfriend now though, maybe that’s why he doesn’t text me back.
“All his girlfriends literally hate me. We’ve talked about it so much. Every girl that he ever hangs out with is like, ‘Why would you want to hang out with me when you hung out with Genie?’”
