Eagle-eyed fans spot Old El Paso kit being used in Beckham’s burrito cooking tutorial
‘It’s giving me down to earth parents vibes!’ Eagle-eyed fans spot Old El Paso kit being used in David and Harper Beckham’s burrito cooking tutorial
Eagle-eyed fans spotted an Old El Paso kit being used in David and Harper Beckham’s burrito cooking tutorial on Saturday.
Victoria Beckham, 49, took to Instagram to share a sweet video of her husband David, 48, and their daughter Harper, 11, cooking together this weekend.
The father-daughter duo whipped up a storm as they prepared fresh salsa before making chicken burritos, also giving a glimpse at their very lavish Cotswolds home.
But some people following them on social media noticed the Old El Paso burrito kit during the clip and commented that it made them seem more ‘down to earth.’
One wrote: ‘The Old El Paso kit is giving me down to earth parents vibezzz!!! @davidbeckham (Us Mums & Dads all resort to making life a little bit easier in the kitchen!)’.
Another said: ‘That’s the Fajita kit, the Burrito one is actually better.’
Brooklyn Beckham may be forging a career as a chef, but his sister Harper is already giving him a run for his money.
In the video, Harper was seen chopping onions as she showed off her cooking skills while making the salsa, while David prepared the burritos.
As music played, Harper was also seen flashing a huge grin as she performed some salsa dance steps and waved a tea towel in the air.
David also revealed that their lunch choice had been inspired by Victoria’s best pal’s new movie Flamin’ Hot, which they watched on Friday night.
He said: ‘We are making burritos, inspired by Flamin’ Hot movie by Eva, our friend.’
The clip then showed Harper and David busy at work making rice and guacamole to complete their tasty burritos.
The video also gave a glimpse at their very lavish kitchen in their Cotswolds home, which features a huge breakfast bar with stylish blue cupboards and Daylesford tea towels.
The kitchen also boasts an impressive double Aga oven and a massive double fridge/freezer, which is built into the row of dark blue cabinets.
Huge wooden boards were hung up on the exposed brickwork walls, while in the corner was a wood burning pizza oven.
Alongside the video, Victoria penned: ‘Salsa Saturday!! When @Davidbeckham and #HarperSeven are inspired by @Flaminhotmovie @Evalongoria!! Kisses @peggygou.’
Victoria’s close pal Eva, 48, has made her directorial debut with Flamin’ Hot, which was released on June 9.
The movie, streaming on Hulu and Disney+, is based on the true story of how a janitor called Richard Montañez invented Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Fans took to the comment section to comment on the stunning kitchen and their cooking skills.
One wrote: ‘Harper is the real star of the kitchen’, another added: ‘Oh my god. A normal-looking fridge not all stacked in rainbow order and everything decanted into identical bowls! I am a Beckham!!!’
A third chimed: ‘Loving the kitchen and when did little Harper suddenly grow up?! And why doesn’t my kitchen have a David Beckham in it?! Loving the father daughter time.’
It comes after Brooklyn risked the wrath of his followers once again with another ‘out of touch’ cooking video which he shared to his Instagram on Wednesday.
The aspiring chef, 24, took to the social media platform to promote a collaboration with Chosen Foods avocado oil, which retails from between $15 and $20.
Introducing the video, Brooklyn explained to his fans that he would be making some fried chicken by shallow frying it using the brand’s ‘100 per cent avocado’ oil.
The son of David and Victoria shared a clip of how to create the fried chicken, but fans took issue with the oil he chose to use.
Despite claims of the oil’s ‘high smoke point and neutral flavor’, Brooklyn’s followers claimed that he was using a ‘huge amount’ of the expensive product for the recipe.
Brooklyn, who has previously come under fire for his ostentatious ingredients including truffle and a £60 rib of beef, was once again being ribbed for his choices.
His critics argued that Brooklyn could have promoted the product using a far more cost effective recipe, rather than using ‘the whole bottle’ on two pieces of chicken.
They said: ‘Why on earth are you deep frying in oil that costs $15/20 per bottle? I realise this is paid promo but something a bit more logical like make a mayo from scratch with it, rather than dump that much into a pan to fry some chicken!
They concluded: ‘Cozzie lives Brookie babes x.’
Another person noted the amount of oil Brooklyn had used, and said: ‘That’s at least $25 worth of avocado oil!’
Others referenced the amount of oil used generally, noting that it would have been a healthier option to bake the chicken rather than fry it.
One person joked: ‘Hi Brooklyn, looks great, is it ok for my grandfather with clogged arteries? Thanks.’
Another quizzed: ‘Couldn’t you have baked the chicken? Why fry it in a huge amount of oil? Why provoke people to eat very harmful and unhealthy food. sucks.’
