David Beckham mocks ‘bored’ Tom Brady during ‘coffee talk’ in Sardinia with businessman David Grutman – as it emerges the NFL legend ‘would love nothing more’ than to unretire AGAIN
Tom Brady ‘looked bored’ during a coffee chat with entrepreneur David Grutman in Sardinia, according to an amusing Instagram comment from David Beckham.
The legendary quarterback has been enjoying himself since retiring from football back in February and appears to have headed to Europe on his latest adventure.
Miami-based entrepreneur and businessman David Grutman shared a picture with Brady, 45, on a boat on his Instagram page, captioned ‘Coffee Talk’.
And that’s where their mutual friend David Beckham jumped in, hilariously commenting on the 48-year-old’s post with ‘Tom looks a little bored to be honest’ followed by a crying with laughter emoji and a yawning one.
Brady replied, but not directly to Beckham, simply saying: ‘I’m ready for my hospitality internship’ with a string of laughing emojis – Grutman, who has an estimated value of $55million, owns several high end Miami restaurants.
Earlier on Tuesday, DailyMail.Com exclusively reported that Brady would love to return to the NFL and unretire for the second time, but has too many commitments to make a return possible.
A source close to the 45-year-old said to Mail Sport: ‘Tom misses football, loves playing, and would love nothing more than to compete again on the grandest stage and win another Super Bowl.
‘But as amazing as those thoughts sound, he has made the decision to retire from the NFL once and for all.
‘He now has an ownership stake with the Raiders, and though he is very familiar with the coaching staff in Las Vegas, and the fact that the Super Bowl would be played in Vegas this upcoming season, at this time it is very unlikely and close to impossible that Tom would come back to play for the Raiders or any NFL team this upcoming year.
‘Currently in his mind, his other ventures in entertainment and entrepreneurial efforts and also the fact he will be a future play-by-play announcer for FOX are really taking up all his time.’
Brady is set to step into the broadcast booth with FOX – who he signed a $375million deal with – in the fall of 2024, while he also owns an eponymous apparel brand, Brady Brand.
Brady announced his retirement from the NFL in an emotional video on February 1 – insisting that this time he was stepping away for good.
During his final season, he announced his divorce from the Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen after 13 years of marriage. Brady had two kids with Bundchen (Vivian and Benjamin), and also has a son with ex-wife Bridget Moynahan (Jack).
Brady, 45, hung up his cleats for a second – and seemingly final – time this February
Brady and Bundchen announced they had split after 13 years of marriage in October
Beckham, meanwhile, has held a firm friendship with Brady. The two were pictured together at a pizza restaurant in Miami days before his retirement announcement.
And when Brady’s decision was announced to the world, Beckham commented on his post: ‘Nobody did it better’.
Brady won seven Super Bowls across the course of his outstanding career.
His final game came on January 16, when the Bucs were defeated 31-14 by the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs.
