The BECKHAM documentary broke records with its release last month, with more than 11 millions fans tuning in around the world within the first fortnight.
And David Beckham’s docuseries – which charted the highs and lows of his career as well as his personal struggles – proved to strike a chord with Halloween revellers, with the footballer’s famous No. 7 shirt the must have costume this year.
Among the celebrities channeling the Manchester United legend were Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Edward Norton.
While fans up and down the country also slipped into football jerseys and one creative pair even recreated David and Victoria Beckham’s iconic wedding outfits.
David was flattered by all the tributes this year but revealed The Rock’s was his personal favourite, sharing the WWE star’s snaps and writing on Instagram: ‘And the winner is @therock looking good man I know what I’m going as next year.’
Dwayne’s hilarious Halloween costume went viral on social media after he shared snaps of himself wearing a blond wig and a Manchester United top with Beckham 7 on the back.
In the caption, Johnson wrote: ‘265lb BLA-MOAN BECKHAM #7 on the field #1 in your heart.
‘Happy Halloween, my friends. BlaMoan = Black + Samoan. #BendItLikeABlaMoan #TaurusEnergy #May2ndBabies’.
Shortly afterwards, David took to the comments to say: ‘I mean I thought I was looking in the mirror. Looking good man you might need a bigger jersey’.
The WWE-star-turned-actor also shared a hilarious video in the full costume, where he controls a ball before staring intensely into the camera.
Before The Rock showed off his costume Edward Norton and Shauna Robertson dressed up as David and Victoria Beckham for the star-studded Casamigos Halloween Party on Friday.
The Fight Club actor, 54, and his Canadian film producer wife transformed into Posh Spice and footballer Becks for the annual bash, with Edward covered in fake tattoos.
To complete his fancy dress, Edward wore a classic Manchester United FC shirt and spiked his hair up, while having dark eyeliner and facial hair drawn on.
Shauna slipped into a strapless, skintight, wet-look mini dress, which she teamed with strappy black stilettos, and donned a sharp black VB bob-style wig.
David’s four-episode documentary BECKHAM followed Posh and Becks in their personal and professional lives, going through their history together with interviews of the couple.
The footballer told of his struggles with his mental health after becoming public enemy No 1 following his infamous red card upset during the 1998 World Cup, with abuse being levelled at him and his family including angry fans throwing their TVs out of windows and an effigy of him being hung outside a pub.
His wife Victoria also joined him in speaking for the first time about the pain suffered in the aftermath of claims about his alleged affair with Rebecca Loos, with the former Spice Girl breaking down in tears as she confides it was the ‘hardest’ time of her life.
Victoria also spoke for the first time of the pain she suffered in the aftermath of the claims about her husband David’s alleged affair.
Almost 20 years after it was claimed he and the personal assistant had become close while he was playing in Spain for Real Madrid, Victoria revealed that the months afterwards were the ‘hardest’ of her life and that she no longer felt like the couple ‘had each other’.
Meanwhile, David admitted he still doesn’t know how they got through the 2003 crisis but he and his former Spice Girl wife knew they had to ‘fight for their family’, and said they felt like they were ‘drowning’ when their high-profile marriage was in the headlines for months.
The former England captain also told how he ‘felt physically sick every day’ as he and Victoria faced a battle to save their marriage.
It’s since been claimed the Victoria is in talks to star in her own docuseries following the success of David’s show.
A source told The Sun: ‘This will be a documentary exploring Victoria’s meteoric rise in the fashion world; how she’s built a fashion and beauty empire from scratch.
‘The focus will very much be on the business brand, but will detail how she had to overcome the naysayers post-Spice Girls and defied the cynics.
‘At times her journey wasn’t easy, and there will be a blood, sweat and tears look behind the scenes at the sheer graft she has put into reinventing herself.
‘Off the back of David’s success, and how well she came across, people will also see, in depth, her wit and sarcasm.’
The insider added that there would also be a glimpse at her relationship with David given as well as a look at her friendships with other celebrities.
The couple have been married for 24 years since first meeting in 1997 and now share four children Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and Harper, 12.
