Kelly Gale has denied over-exercising or starving herself to maintain a slender frame.
During an Instagram Q&A on Tuesday, one fan asked the Victoria’s Secret model: ‘Did you ever over exercise and undereat?’
‘Never I like to take care of my body and mind so I eat foods that are nourishing and taste good and I eat however much I want,’ Kelly, 26, responded.
‘I train to feel good aswell and challenge myself. Lately I’ve been mostly excited about learning new martial art skills than any other training,’ Kelly added.
The question appeared to be in reference to recent scrutiny faced by Victoria’s Secret, who overhauled their business last year to be more inclusive, amid allegations they promoted unhealthy body image standards.
In previous interviews, Kelly has spoken about walking 30km a day and enjoying boxing, skipping, running, resistance training and Pilates.
In 2017, she revealed her pre-runway training regimen included hitting the gym seven times a week for up to two-and-a-half hours at a time.
In an interview with Vogue Australia in 2018, the beauty said she consumes a balanced diet of lean protein, vegetables and healthy carbohydrates.
‘I was never introduced to bad, unhealthy foods, so for me it’s just natural to eat very healthy,’ she said.
‘I eat lots of fish, all vegetables except potatoes, I love slow-release carbs like oatmeal for breakfast, yogurt and lots of berries and fruits,’ Kelly added.
Kelly complements her diet with gym workouts and outdoor activities, such as tennis and beach volleyball.
‘I work out six days per week all year round and usually work out two hours per day, and on top of that I like power walking 15 to 30 kilometres each day,’ she told Vogue.
Kelly also relaunched her YouTube channel in 2020, where she breaks down her gym workouts into sessions focusing on upper body, abs, legs and booty.
Kelly first walked for Victoria’s Secret in 2013 when she was just 18 years old. She later appeared in the 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018 shows.
