Selena Gomez debuts a curly hairdo in a series of selfies…after slamming Instagram
Selena Gomez debuts a curly hairdo in a series of selfies while rocking statement earrings
She is one of the most followed accounts on Instagram, but even Selena Gomez isn’t always a fan of the social media site.
But the Rare singer seemed to embrace the platform as she shared a series of three selfies on Monday.
Leaving them caption-less, she showed off her curly hair do and perfect glam.
The 27-year-old pop star looked glamorous with her brown, and highlighted blonde hair in large curls around her face, with bangs hanging across her forehead.
With the look she had a deep pink nude lip perfectly colored along with her full face of makeup.
The glam included golden eyelids, with a slightly deeper brown crease and full flash lashes.
In the close up shots, Gomez’s grey turtle neck is the only part of her outfit visible.
Though her long rhinestone triangle shaped earrings popped out under her hair.
The photos come just a few days after she called out beauty standards that circulate on Instagram, in an interview with Dazed magazine.
Though she has 167 million watching her posts, Gomez thinks the photo-sharing app has put a lot of ‘pressure’ on people to conform and not celebrate what makes them unique.
When asked if she could push a button to get rid of Instagram entirely, she told the publication: ‘I think I’d have a lot of people not liking me for saying yes.’
‘If I could find a balanced, happy medium that would be great, but I would be lying if I said that it isn’t destroying some of my generation, their identity,’ she explained.
‘It’s a huge part of why I named my album Rare, because there’s so much pressure to look the same as everyone else.’
The Lose You To Love Me hitmaker decided to take a two-year break from Instagram and Twitter in 2018 and admitted it was ‘scary’ returning to social media at first and stills to only short bursts of usage.
‘It was scary going back on – the first four days I was like, ‘No, there’s no way I can do this.’ What I do now is to only go on it when I feel like I need to, and then I’ll just log off, I won’t take time to explore or look at anything else,’ she said.
Gomez recently admitted she felt much happier when she wasn’t using social media.
‘When I was out of social media, I was so much happier with just me, myself, how I looked, and that helped a lot. I just needed to let my old self go. I was purging multiple different things, but it was specifically who I was then,’ she admitted.
