Selena Gomez wows in a glittering silver gown before slipping into a purple flower frock as she attends star-studded Rare Impact Fund Benefit in support of youth mental help in Los Angeles
Selena Gomez had all eyes on her as she arrived on the red carpet ahead of her hosting duties at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit Supporting Youth Mental Health in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The singer and actress, 31, first wowed in a mermaid tail halter-neck silver glittering gown with a stunning rose embellishment before slipping into a stylish purple flower frock.
The star accessorized the stylish look with a pair of matching silver earrings and silver rings. Selena wore her raven tresses in a sleek bob and accentuated her naturally stunning features with just a touch of glowing bronze makeup.
A number of friends showed up to support the star at the event, including her kidney donor Francia Raisa, her ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner, and her Only Murders in the Building co-star Martin Short.
The Rare Impact Fund was launched by Selena as part of her commitment to address issues of mental health. One percent of all her Rare Beauty product sales is donated to the fund.
For her second red carpet look, Gomez stunned onlookers in a fun purple minidress shaped like a hisbiscus flower.
She strolled the venue in silver strappy heels that gave her petite frame a boost.
Gomez launched her cosmetics Rare Beauty brand in 2020.
One of the brand’s goals is to eventually raise $100 million so that mental health resources can be provided to youth regardless of their socioeconomic class.
Also joining her at the event was her friend Francia Raisa, 35, who confirmed that there is ‘no beef’ between them earlier this year, despite ongoing feud rumors.
Raisa matched Selena in a stunning one-shoulder silver gown that clung to her hourglass figure and featured a similar mermaid-style bottom.
Selena’s kidney donor wore her brunette tresses in a chic updo, with a few strands left to frame her face.
In August, Raisa shut down rumors that she was forced to donate her kidney to the singer.
The actress made headlines in 2017 with her act of kindness, donating to help Gomez as she battled lupus-related organ damage.
While appearing on the Good Guys Podcast, Francia was quizzed about the procedure, prompting her to explain: ‘I just felt it in my heart, I knew I was a match. I knew it was gonna happen.
‘No one forced me to do anything. It came out of the genuine kindness of my heart and I’ve been super blessed ever since.’
She went on to reveal that she considers herself to be a ‘walking success story,’ noting ‘I take better care of myself now than I did before.’
Raisa met Gomez in 2007 and they developed a tight bond, later attending a number of red carpet events together.
However, since donating the kidney to Gomez, the pair has had a precarious relationship, at one point feuding for months.
But it appears things have smoothed over between them since, with Raisa supporting Selena at her event.
Also at the soirée was singer H.E.R., 26, who looked fashionable in a bold print silk blouse and matching pants.
She added height to her look with red hot platform heels.
The Every Kind of Way hitmaker wore her raven locks in a side ponytail and accessorized with a pearl necklace.

Model Iskra Lawrence, 33, wowed in a mauve bustier silk top and matching skirt with a sizzling side slit.
The blonde beauty added some sparkle to her look with crystal-adorned clear heels and gold hoops.
She opted for gentle makeup and wore her blonde tresses flowing down her back.
Sofia Carson, 30, made a playful fashion statement in a black and turquoise mini dress with elbow-length gloves.
The actress finalized her look with black tights and pointed-toe black heels.
Selena’s Only Murders in the Building co-star Martin Short, 73, looked sharp in a black suit with a red and white tie.
YouTuber Alisha Marie out her toned legs on display in a little black dress, which she wore with black studded heels.
Model Larsen Thompson was red hot in an off-shoulder fiery dress and matching scarlet heels.
Kylie Jenner’s ex-boyfriend Tyga, 33, looked handsome in a black suit and matching silk black shirt
Selena’s former ex, Twilight star Taylor Lautner, 31, was also in attendance. The actor arrived to the event in a dapper black short-sleeve velvet button-up and matching pants.
Lautner’s wife Tay Lautner looked elegant in a simple black dress and beige sandal heels.
Taylor and Selena briefly dated in 2009, months before his famous romance with her pal Taylor Swift.
CEO of Thrive Global Arianna Huffington, 73, looked lovely in a black lace dress. She was joined by Darnell O. Strom who looked dapper in a navy suit.
Selena’s Rare Beauty company certainly has much to celebrate. Aside from its charitable aims the brand has been extremely successful in the competitive makeup space.
Last year the company sold around $70 million in just the blush category alone according to Bloomberg.
In 2020 Gomez discussed why it was important for her to also include a worthy social cause in her brand’s agenda.
She told Forbes that she felt society is often flooded with imagery that ‘makes people feel less than or the need to achieve a perceived perfection, which is absolutely unattainable.’
‘I have been open with my own personal mental health struggles and have seen myself affected by feeling less than. Through my openness, I have heard from many young people over the years struggling as well and so this is something very close to my heart.’
