Sydney Sweeney takes the plunge in high-cut crop top as she enjoys frozen treats with pals… after revealing she asked Euphoria creators to cut back on ‘unnecessary’ topless scenes
Sydney Sweeney took the plunge in a high-cut White Fox crop top when she was spotted out and about in Los Angeles this week.
The 24-year-old brought back 1970s chic in a full-sleeved backless top that complemented her high-waisted Mistress Rocks khaki trousers.
She could be seen clambering out of her TikTok-famous Mustang and then enjoying frozen treats with a group of her friends.
Letting her signature blonde hair down, Sydney accented her ensemble with a powder blue handbag that went well with her car.
The White Lotus actress added an extra touch of glitz to her look with a couple of necklaces and a subtle pair of earrings.
Sydney could also be spotted gassing up her vehicle, a Ford Mustang convertible she introduced as ‘my new baby britney’ on TikTok last May.
Alongside her acting career, she is an avid gearhead and has posted several TikTok updates about the process of restoring her cherry red 1969 Ford Bronco.
Her latest outing comes after she admitted Euphoria creator Sam Levinson listened to her plea for less nudity on season two of the hit show.
Sydney, who stars as Cassie on the award-winning HBO series, noticed there were ‘unnecessary’ topless scenes and requested they be cut from production.
Euphoria is known for its often challenging storylines as a group of American high school students navigate the trials and tribulations of growing up through experiences with sex, drugs and various relationships.
‘Sam [Levinson] is amazing,’ Sweeney told The Independent. ‘There are moments where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam, “I don’t really think that’s necessary here.” He was like, “OK, we don’t need it.”
She added: ‘I’ve never felt like Sam has pushed it on me or was trying to get a nude scene into an HBO show. When I didn’t want to do it, he didn’t make me.’
Sydney noted that her experiences with nudity on Euphoria, where she works with Zendaya and Jacob Elordi, were different than other projects she’s worked on.
‘I’ve had experiences where I want to go home and scrub myself completely raw because I feel disgusting,’ she said. ‘I didn’t feel comfortable with my castmate or the crew, and I just didn’t feel like my character would be doing it.
‘That made me even more self-conscious. I didn’t feel like I was able to speak up.’
Sydney did take umbrage with viewers who failed to take her performance seriously strictly because of the nude scenes on the show.
‘I’m very proud of my work in Euphoria. I thought it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked,’ Sweeney said. ‘I do The White Lotus and all of a sudden critics are paying attention. People are loving me.
‘They’re going, “Oh my God, what’s she doing next?” I was like, “Did you not see that in Euphoria? Did you not see that in The Handmaid’s Tale?”‘
Sweeney also noted the ‘stigma against actresses who get naked on screen,’ and said: ‘When a guy has a sex scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise. But the moment a girl does it, it’s completely different.’
